Continuando o segundo dia, tive a sorte de ver os desfiles do Ricardo Andrez e do Luís Carvalho. O desfile do Ricardo foi feito no Museu Coleção Berardo (só um dos meus museus favoritos) e a coleção foi bastante original. Achei bastante interessantes algumas peças em silicone(não tenho a certeza, mas era isso que aparentava), e o statement que o criador fez no final com um casaco que recordava os cobertores com golfinhos estampados, que eu tenho a certeza que toda a gente já viu.

Já o Luís Carvalho mostrou peças mais elegantes e que eu usaria sem tirar, nem pôr. Ao som de um remix de ''Fade'' do Kanye West, os modelos fecharam o último desfile da noite, numa coleção repleta de tecidos brilhantes e metalizados e cortes arrojados.

Continuing the second day, I was lucky to see the shows of Ricardo Andrez and Luís Carvalho. Ricardo's fashion show was made at the Berardo Collection Museum (only one of my favorite museums!!) and the collection was quite original. I found some interesting pieces of silicone (I'm not sure, but that's what it looked like), and the statement that the designer made at the end of the show was a jacket that remembered the blankets with printed dolphins, which I'm sure everyone have seen.

Luís Carvalho has shown more elegant pieces that I would use. To the sound of a remix of Kanye West's ''Fade'', the models closed off the final show of the night in a collection full of shiny, metalized fabrics and dashing cuts.

Assim vos mostro o primeiro e o início do segundo dia de desfiles da ModaLisboa! No primeiro dia assisti ao desfile do David Ferreira (que já tinha visto os coordenados, porque a marca já tinha apresentado a coleção na Semana da Moda em Londres) e devo dizer que foi uma lufada de ar fresco ver uma coleção divertida, repleta de cores vivas, uma espécie de ''Alice no país das maravilhas''. Na verdade, não é roupa usável no dia a dia, mas tenho a certeza absoluta que dará umas excelentes fotos para editoriais de moda.

No segundo dia, o primeiro desfile esteve a cargo de AWAYTOMARS e foi uma excelente surpresa. Chegámos à sala e o staff avisou-nos para circular. Enquanto circulávamos, vários artistas iam tornando as peças de roupa em telas e iam pintando-as com várias técnicas. Daí nasceram peças de roupa únicas. Uma ideia de génio, que fez com que eu e várias pessoas com que falei, achassem que este foi um dos desfiles a não perder na ModaLisboa deste ano!

So, today I show you the first and the beginning of the second day of Lisbon Fashion Week! On the first day I attended the David Ferreira show (I had already seen the coordinates because the brand had already presented the collection at the London Fashion Week) and I must say it was a breath of fresh air to see a fun collection with bold colors, a kind of '' Alice in Wonderland ''. In fact, it's not a casual collection, but I'm pretty sure it will be perfect for pictures for fashion editorials.

On the second day, the first show was run by AWAYTOMARS and was a great surprise. We arrived at the room and the staff warned us to move around. While we were circulating, several artists were painting the pieces of clothing like they were a canvas, with various techniques. From there were born unique pieces of clothing. A genius idea, which made me and several people with whom I spoke thought that this was one of the shows not to be missed at ModaLisboa this year!

Olá queridos leitores , já há algum tempo que queria fazer um post sobre trends. Adoro ler esses tipos de posts e também adoro saber a opinião dos outros. Neste post vou falar das trends que eu mais gosto e que capturaram a minha atenção. A primeira trend - que já ando a seguir é "hoodies" e "sweatshirts" , acho que são duas das melhores trends para quem gosta de street-style e ao mesmo tempo para quem gostar de estar quentinho e confortável, especialmente nesta altura do ano. A segunda trend que eu adoro ver e que tenho de acrescentar ao meu closet são os "waist - cinchers"  , acho que eles conseguem dar mais definição ao corpo de qualquer pessoa e dão um toque super elegante a qualquer outfit. Como já sabemos, as Kardashian- Jenners já aderiram a esta trend há muito tempo ahah! A terceira trend que ando a ver em muitos sítios e que o ano passado também estava em vigor mas este ano parece ter ganho mais ênfase é “ underwear for outerwear” ou seja vestir um soutien debaixo de um blazer ou algo com aspeto de lingerie por cima de uma outra blusa. Eu acho está trend diferente e fora do normal, daí ter-me interessado muito por ela. A quarta trend que estranhamente começei a gostar são o uso de cores vivas, porque normalmente estou mais inclinada a comprar roupas escuras e tons neutros, mas por alguma razão ando a gostar muito de ver cores vivas em certos outfits. Finalmente para a última trend , é o "edgy rock band style" , ou seja o estilo edgy. Sinto que esta trend nunca deixa de existir, e pessoalmente não é a que mais gosto, mas adoro o facto de incluir as cores escuras como o preto , muito cabedal e 

"Band tees".

Dear readers , it has been a long time since I wanted to do a post about trends. I enjoy reading these types of posts and also enjoy knowing other people opinions. In this post I'm going to talk about my favourite trends at the moment and the ones that caught my attention. The first trend is "hoodies & sweatshirts" , I think both are the best trend for those that are into street-style but at the same time for those who want to protect themselves from the cold weather and being comfy , especially in this time of the year. The second trend that Iove to see and that I also need to add in my closet ASAP is "waist - cinchers" , I think they can give defenition to anybody and gives an elegant touch to any outfit. Like we already know , the Kardashian- Jenners are using this trend for quite a long time ahah!  The third trend that I have been seeing in a lot of places that also was relevant last year but is getting more intense this year is "underwear for outerwear" , which is using a bra/ bralette under a blazer or even wearing a lingerie type of clothing on top of another blouse/ shirt. I think this trend is different and out of the ordinary , so that must be the reason i am so interested in it. The fourth trend which I strangely started to enjoy quite a bit is "bright colours " because normally I tend to buy more neutral or dark coloured clothing , but for one unknown reason I have been loving to see some outfits with a pop of colour. Finally for the last trend on the list is "edgy rock band style" , which is the edgier style. I feel like this trend never fades away , it is not one of my personal favourites , but I Iike the fact that it includes dark colours like black , a lot of leather and band tees,

Sei que já venho um bocadinho atrasada, mas hoje venho contar-vos a minha experiência na ModaLisboa Fast Talks deste ano. O tema foi a Sustentabilidade no mundo da moda, tema que não poderia ser mais oportuno. 

Reuniu um painel de oradores de luxo, como Brigitte Stepputtis, a responsável pela secção de Alta Costura da marca Vivienne Westwood, passando por Marko Matysik  que é diretor criativo, ilustrador e escritor para a Vogue Japão e Vogue China, Lara Vidreiro, uma portuguesa que co-fundou a marca Chic by Choice onde podemos alugar vestidos de luxo a preços minimamente acessíveis...

Comparando com o ano passado, achei que o tema deste ano seria mais interessante de desenvolver e que com o painel de oradores que a ModaLisboa reuniu, ia ser muito interessante ver onde toda esta ''conversa'' ia dar, mas na minha opinião, achei muito mais interessante a ''conversa'' do ano passado... De qualquer das formas, gostei muito de ouvir os testemunhos dos oradores e de que a sustentabilidade no mundo da moda se esteja a tornar um assunto cada vez mais importante!

E por agora é tudo, tenho de me ir despachar para o segunda dia de desfiles da ModaLisboa! Am I going to see you there??

I know I'm already a little late, but today I'm going to tell you about my experience at ModaLisboa Fast Talks this year. The theme was Suntentability in the world of fashion, a theme that could not be more accurate.

It brought together a panel of luxury speakers such as Brigitte Stepputtis, head of the Vivienne Westwood Haute Couture section, and Marko Matysik who is creative director, illustrator and writer for Vogue Japan and Vogue China, Lara Vidreiro, a portuguese Co-founded of Chic by Choice, a brand where we can rent luxury dresses at minimally accessible prices ...

Compared with last year, I thought that this year's theme would be more interesting to develop and with the panel of speakers that ModaLisboa brought, it was going to be very interesting to see where all this '' talk '' was going to take, but in my opinion, I found the '' talk '' of last year much more interesting ... In any case, I really enjoyed listening to the testimonies of the speakers and that sustainability in the fashion world is becoming an increasingly important issue!

And for now is everything, I have to go to the last day of  shows at ModaLisboa! Am I going to see you there?

Dyeing without water

Com certeza já ouviram falar na poluição causada por fábricas, em rios, lagos, etc. E quantas vezes não lavaram já uma peça de roupa nova e ela passou parte da cor para a água? Pois bem, este método pretende fazer com que isso acabe. Hoje em dia, a maior parte das peças de vestuário e não só, são tingidas com corantes, que com as lavagens acabam por se libertar em parte do tecido. Neste método é utilizado vapor, mais especificamente CO2, para tingir os tecidos,  fazendo com que águas não sejas poluídas e que não haja tanto desperdício. Não sei até que ponto a ideia é rentável, mas é uma óptima ideia para tornar toda esta indústria mais sustentável.

Surely you have heard of pollution from factories, in rivers, lakes, etc. And how many times have you washed a new piece of clothing and it passed some color to the water? Well, this method is meant to make it stop. Nowadays, most of the garments and not only, are tinted with dyes, that with the washes they end up freeding in part of the color of the fabric. In this method with steam, more specifically CO2, is used to dye the fabrics, so that water is not polluted and to avoid any kind of toxic waste. I do not know how profitable the idea is, but it's a great idea to make this whole industry more sustainable.

Patagónia

Outra, e não menos importante empresa, é a Patagónia. Em 2011, lançaram a campanha que se encontra na imagem dizendo ''Don't buy this jacket'' (em português, não comprem este casaco). Como é óbvio, esta campanha tornou-se polémica e atraíu muita popularidade para a marca. Mas a ideia que eles estavam a tentar passar era de que as pessoas só deveriam comprar aquele casaco, se realmente precisassem dele, tentando assim reduzir o número de roupa comprada desnecessariamente. Se virem o documentário, irão reparar que o senhor que está a apresentar a marca tem um ódio à Zara (vá-se lá saber porquê............).

Another, and no less important company, is Patagonia. In 2011, they launched the campaign that is in the image saying "Do not buy this jacket". Obviously, this campaign became controversial and attracted much popularity to the brand. But the idea they were trying to transmite was that people should only buy that coat if they really needed it, to try to reduce the number of unnecessarily bought clothes. If you watch the documentary, you will notice that the man who is presenting the brand has a hatred for Zara (go and find out why ............).

Embora seja uma pequena empresa, também mencionaram a ''I Fix it'', uma empresa que cuida e renova peças de vestuário que já não usamos, tentando assim reduzir o número de roupas que compramos desenfreadamente nos dias de hoje. A marca tem também vídeos de diy muito interessantes!
